I have to confess: I'm a pretty last minute person. As much as I like to plan, I also find accomplishment in getting things done the day before or even several hours before something is due. I can't completely explain the sense of accomplishment I feel when I complete tasks as they come up, but I can say that it makes me feel as if anything is possible as long as you're one hundred percent committed to getting things done, and getting them done well. I divulge this information because I can confidently say that this is one cake that I was able to feel that unexplainable sense of accomplishment as this was a semi-last minute project that I thoroughly enjoyed creating.
Today's cake comes from a (regular) client, Kim B.! (HI KIM!!) for her lovely niece, Sarah K.'s (HI SARA!!) birthday. [Sara K. is the sweet gal who order two joint bridal shower cakes several weeks ago]. When Kim reached out to me to create this cake for Sara K., I was more than willing despite starting a new job that took up a good chunk of my day/week. Kim has been such a supportive and encouraging client throughout my cake journey that I'd honestly fulfill any cake order she desired. Truthfully, I've only ever met Kim twice in real life, but, before that, through email exchanges. But I digress!
Kim had contacted me a few days ago about surprising Sara with a peony cake of her own for her Birthday. Naturally, I said YES, and the rest is history. I was incredibly relieved to hear that Sara loved it, and was thoroughly surprised to have this cake to call her own.
I'm so honored and thrilled to be able to use my talent to make other's feel that they are special and that they are loved. I am especially encouraged to know that there are people who trust me enough to give them a memorable and special birthday! My heart is so full!
