Rain don't bring me down...

I am a born and raised Arizona girl. I lived in sunny Arizona up until my mid 20's and never truly imagined that I'd ever leave. As much as I love Seattle's rainy days, I can't help but long for those lazy, sunny (and HOT) Sunday afternoons, getting bubble tea with friends after church and witnessing the clear sky turn different colors of orange and pink and purple as the warm day faded to warm night. Oh, how I miss those days...

I love the rain, but sometimes it can really get me down, and perhaps "down" is definitely how I was feeling when I got the call (by "call" I mean text har har) to do these cupcakes because I immediately wanted to make sure the next thing I did was the opposite of well...down. They definitely scream something warm and sunny, and consequently, these cupcakes were for a group of Arizona gals who traveled to Seattle for a bachelorette getaway! I promise it wasn't intentional as I was told the wedding colors were blush, white, and green/blues; but as I began planning the color pallet for the cupcakes, my subconscious was planning a different pallet of its own.

I'm 90% sure the lighting contributed to the yellowish glow of the cupcakes, which is why these pictures are invoking a sense of a "warm & sunny" vibe in my brain, but I can't say that I don't like it. I actually love it, because this particular day was very windy, and wet, and grey; and these cupcakes certainly brightened the rest of my day.

Rain, don't bring me down...

ENJOY.
